I have zero experience. Should I even bother applying?

Yes — absolutely. Many of our best interns started with zero experience. If you’re unsure which stream fits you, apply to the Junior Developer Track and rotate until you find your lane.

I’m a career switcher from a non-tech field. Is this for me?

100%. Career switchers often outperform because they bring fresh perspectives and serious motivation. We teach the craft from the ground up with dedicated mentorship.

How do I apply, and how long does it take?

Applications are rolling — we review weekly and start interns as seats open in each stream. Applying early improves your chances for your preferred stream.

Is the internship paid or do I pay a fee?

This is a paid training programme: you pay a transparent annual programme fee for a year of mentored, real-client work. In exchange you get 1:1 mentorship, live project experience, and a portfolio that opens doors — the kind of training colleges charge far more for, with far less real work.

Each stream has a transparent annual fee, benchmarked to the role’s market value — you can see every figure, payment plan, and discount on the Fees & Payment Plans page. Your offer letter will state the exact fee for your stream along with payment-plan options.

Are there payment plans or discounts?

Yes — flexible payment options reward commitment: Monthly (12 instalments, standard), Quarterly — 4 payments (10% off), Half-Yearly — 2 payments (25% off), or Yearly (33% off).

How do I pay?

Fee payments are arranged during onboarding, before your start date. Your offer conversation covers the plan options, invoices, and any documentation you or your family need.

Can I cancel? Are there cancellation fees?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can cancel anytime — with zero cancellation fees, no strings attached. If you leave partway through the year, you only pay for the months you’ve completed and the rest is refunded. For example: land a job after 3 months on an upfront plan, cancel, and you get the remaining 9 months refunded in full. Your training, your call.

How long is the internship?

Every stream is a focused 1-year track — long enough for deep specialisation and a serious portfolio, short enough to launch your career fast. You and your mentor review progress at regular checkpoints throughout the year.

Can college students manage this alongside classes?

Accepted Answer

Yes — that’s why we’re hybrid and flexible. Remote days have flexible hours, and we work around exam schedules.

What is the weekly time commitment?

Accepted Answer

Full-time track is ~40 hours/week. The student track is ~20–25 hours/week with weekend-friendly scheduling options.

Is the internship remote or in-office?

Accepted Answer

Hybrid. We run on a 3-day in-office cadence at our Nagpur office for team whiteboarding and 1:1 mentorship, combined with 2 remote focus days each week.

Is this a coaching institute or training class?

Accepted Answer

No. IDEA Launchpad is not a coaching institute. We don’t hold classes, lecture on syntax, or spoon-feed answers. We don’t teach tech from a whiteboard — we give you real client tasks and expect you to research, test, and find solutions yourself. Mentors review your code and unblock you when stuck, but ownership and problem-solving must come from you.

If there are no lectures and I research solutions myself, what if I get stuck?

You are never stranded. The rule at IDEA Launchpad is simple: (1) Spend 30 minutes researching and attempting a solution, (2) Document what you tried, and (3) Ping your mentor. Your mentor won’t do your work for you, but they will review your code, spot the logical flaw, and point you toward the right documentation within minutes.

I have a degree but no practical skills. Will I survive here?

That’s exactly who this programme is built for. Degrees prove you’re trainable — not ready. Nobody expects you to know professional Git, debugging, Docker, or CI/CD walking in. You’ll learn the practical layer on real projects with a mentor from Week 1.

I only know how to build tutorial/to-do apps. Is that enough to apply?

Yes — applying is how you move past tutorials. If you get in, your first weeks take you from "follows tutorials" to "reads real codebases, ships real features." And if you want to level up before applying: build something with authentication and a database, learn your IDE’s debugger, and read code from a popular open-source repo.

Will I work on real projects or dummy assignments?

Real, live client projects — always. Web apps, websites, AI systems, and mobile apps used by actual users in production. You’ll build a portfolio of shipped work, not classroom exercises.

What tech stack will I work with?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your stream — for example, React/Tailwind (Frontend), Laravel/PHP or Node.js (Backend), React Native/Expo (Mobile), Python/LLMs (AI), OWASP/Burp Suite (Security), or Agile/Jira (PM). Our stacks mirror what clients actually use today, and we update as the industry moves.

Will I get a mentor?

Yes — every intern is paired with a senior engineer or project manager who reviews your work, unblocks you daily, and guides your growth plan.

Do I get a certificate?

Accepted Answer

No certificate — you get an experience letter documenting your track, projects, and contributions. More importantly, you’ll leave with a portfolio of live, shipped projects — which hiring managers value far more than any PDF.

Can I publicly show client projects on my portfolio?

Accepted Answer

Yes, 100%. Client deliverables are structured so you retain shareable portfolio rights. You get approved live URLs, case studies, production metrics, and GitHub commits to show prospective employers.

Is there a chance of a full-time job offer?

Accepted Answer

Yes — and it’s a real one, not a dangling carrot. Top-performing interns receive pre-placement offers (PPOs), and many convert to full-time roles before or at the end of their track.

Can I get a Letter of Recommendation (LOR)?

Accepted Answer

Yes. High-performing interns receive LORs from mentors and leadership — valuable for higher studies and job applications alike.

What happens at the end of my internship?

Three paths: (1) receive a full-time offer if you’ve performed strongly, (2) extend/deepen your track with a level promotion, or (3) graduate with an outstanding portfolio, experience letter, LOR, and references. All three are wins.

What if I apply and get rejected?

Rejection isn’t the end — you can reapply after 3 months, and we’ll tell you exactly what to strengthen. Many successful interns got in on their second attempt.

How do I convince my parents this is legit?
